Global Media Group announced in a statement this Wednesday the departure of Domingos Andrade and António Saraiva from the Board of Directors and the inauguration of three new directors, J.José Paulo Fernandez Fafe, Diogo Risueño da Cruz Agostinho, Filipe Miguel de Cruz and Queiroz Nascimento.
Fafe, who ran the weekly newspaper Tal & Qual until May last year, was appointed by the fund that recently acquired a 38% stake in Páginas Civilizadas, owned by Marco Galinha, who retains the position of “charmain” from the group that owns Diário de Notícias, Jornal de Notícias, O Jogo and TSF.
According to the digital newspaper ECO, further changes to the group are expected in the coming weeks. The editorial structure of the Global brands is less than three years old. In November 2020, Rosalia Amorim was appointed to lead DN, Inés Cardoso as JN and Andrade as TSF.
Domingos Andrade is one of the suspects in Operation Babylon, which led to the indictment of Eduardo Vitor Rodriguez, the mayor of Vila Nova de Gaia, and which includes an extensive list of suspects, including Manuel Pizarro, the Minister of Health.
