Benfica scores and advances to the final of the first round of the women’s “Championship”

This Wednesday, Benfica reached the final of the first qualifying round of the Women’s Champions League, defeating Cliftonville from Northern Ireland with a score of 8: 1, and now facing the Latvian team from Riga.

At the Seixal Stadium, home of the Group 6 matches of the first round, Benfica scored thanks to Mari Alido (24 minutes), Lucia Alves (36 and 73), Andrea Falcon (42), Lara Martins (49 and 55). and Beatriz Nogueira (75), also benefiting from an own goal by Rachel Nornay (34), while Cliftonville scored the only goal thanks to Caitlin McGuinness (61).

Scheduled for Saturday, Benfica will now take on Riga, who beat Kazakhstan’s Shymkent 1-0 this Wednesday in the first round final, with the winner advancing to the second round.
