This Thursday at dawn, a skidding of a passenger car on the municipal road 567 in the area of San Pedro do Rio Seco, Almeida municipality, Guarda district, killed one person and seriously injured one.
The alert was issued at 5:06 am, a source from the Sub-Regional Command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela said.
Almeida Volunteer Fire Commander Francisco Martins explained to the Luz agency that it was a skid followed by a rollover on the road connecting the towns of San Pedro do Rio Seco with Castelo Bom.
He added that the fatal victims were a woman and a seriously injured man, aged between 55 and 60.
The seriously injured man was taken to da Guarda Hospital, from where he was transported by helicopter to Coimbra.
According to the Sub-Regional Command of Beiras and Serra da Estrela, 16 operators participated in the relief operations with the support of vehicles.
