Coach Roberto Martinez said this Sunday that Portugal can improve their level of play and hopes that this will happen on Monday against Luxembourg, despite it being a “difficult” game in qualifying for Euro 2024.
“I like to have a winning team, quality without the ball and with the ball. In Slovakia (1-0) the quality without the ball was at a high level. With the ball we didn’t have the chances that we might have, especially given the individual qualities that exist in the dressing room. But the attitude and effort were fantastic,” said Roberto Martinez.
The 50-year-old coach spoke to reporters at the Algarve Stadium, where the match with the Luxembourgers will take place, at a press conference dedicated to the sixth round of Group J.
