Zeus, the tallest dog in the world, dies

Zeus, the world’s tallest dog, died Tuesday at the age of three, Guinness World Records said. The animal was diagnosed with bone cancer and did not survive surgery.

The dog’s height was 1.04 meters. When he was diagnosed, his leg had to be amputated.

“Zeus died on Tuesday morning due to pneumonia associated with the amputation. Zeus died with his head in his mother’s lap, receiving scratches on his ears and kisses to the end,” the caregiver said.

Brittany describes Zeus as a “truly special” dog who will be missed by everyone. He also thanked the team of professionals who always looked after the animal and “did everything to save it.”

Zeus was awarded the title of tallest dog in the world by Guinness World Records in 2022. He would have turned four in November.
