The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) this Monday guaranteed a “safe environment” in the women’s national team after disagreements with the organization’s former president, Luis Rubiales.
“We guarantee a safe environment for players and strive to create an atmosphere of mutual trust so that we can work together and ensure that women’s football continues to grow with much greater strength,” the organization said in a statement.
The RFEF wanted to “bring to the attention of the national team players the public commitments made by the new leadership of the institution that governs football in Spain.”
The federation says it “recognizes the need to make structural changes,” which means it is important to “clarify every behavior and behavior that may have occurred.”
“It is obvious that the Federation, society and the players themselves are pursuing the same goal: renewal and the beginning of a new stage, where football is the main beneficiary of this entire process,” assured the RFEF.
