In his powerful speech on the first day of the 78th United Nations General Assembly, Andrzej Duda made reference to World War II and the occupation of his country by Nazi Germany, referring to Russia’s “brutal invasion” of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. : “That is why we understand the tragedy of Ukraine better than any other country in the world, and the tragedy of other countries experiencing the madness of war.”
