An 83-year-old man died this Saturday in a collision between the tractor he was riding and a car, shortly after noon, on Estrada Nacional 15, in the town of Horhais, in Vila Verde, in the municipality of Alijo.
The fatal victim was also treated at the scene by the Sanfins do Douro Fire Department’s pre-hospital emergency care team, supported by the INEM medical team, who, despite attempts to resuscitate him, ultimately pronounced him dead.
The road was prepared for relief and road clearing operations, with traffic returning to normal at 13:00.
Six operatives from the Sanfins do Douro volunteer fire department, the INEM ambulance and intensive care unit based at the Vila Real Hospital, and the GNR were present at the scene.
