Spanish midfielder Rodri of Manchester City received the first red card of his career after shaking the neck of Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White in an English league match this Saturday.
In the 46th minute of the game, during a ball dispute near the corner flag, the City athlete lost control and attacked the opposing player. Morgan Gibbs-White showed no reaction to Rhodri’s advances.
Given the situation, referee Anthony Taylor had no hesitation in sending off the Manchester City midfielder. The English champions won the match 2-0 and maintained their successful league record with six wins from as many games, giving them an isolated advantage.
The City’s starting line-up included Portuguese Mateus Nunez and Ruben Dias. Bernardo Silva, injured, was not called up to the team. On the losing side, defender Nuno Tavares was part of the 11 and was substituted in the first half. The Nottingham team is in 10th place.
