The draw for the third round of the Portuguese Cup, held this Wednesday at the Cidade do Futebol stadium, showed that Vilar de Perdizes, emblem of the Portuguese championship, will meet Porto in Trás-os-Montes.
A group of football players from the municipality of Montalegre in the district of Vila Real watched the draw live on television. When they realized they were going to face Sergio Conceiço’s team, they couldn’t contain their euphoria, jumping and screaming in celebration.
This will be the first time the club will face a team from the Portuguese First Football League.
Vilar de Perdizes, sixth in Portugal’s Serie A, hosts the Dragons, who have won the Portuguese Cup 19 times, including the last two editions.
