Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal seals Al Nasser’s Saudi League title

A goal from Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo ensured Al Nasr’s 2-1 victory over Al Tay in the eighth round of the Saudi Football League this Friday.

Al-Nasr, coached by Portuguese Luis Castro and with Ronaldo and Otavio in the starting line-up, took the lead with a goal from Brazilian Talischi in the 32nd minute following an assist from the Portuguese striker.

In the second half, Al-Thai leveled the score at 79 thanks to a goal from Dutchman Virgil Misigian, while Al-Nasr scored the winner on Cristiano Ronaldo’s 87 from the penalty spot, with the forward scoring his 10th league goal this season. .

Champions Al Ittihad, coached by Nuno Espirito Santo, drew 0-0 during their visit to Al Faya and could lose the lead in the competition to Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal, who play this Friday against Al Shabab “.

As for Filipe Gouveia’s Al Hazem, they lost 3-1 at home to Al Taawon, with the foreign side taking the lead through Gambian Musa Barrow in the 59th minute.

The home side leveled the score at 72, Portugal’s Tose converted a penalty, but Al Taawon scored twice more through Abdulfattah Adam (86) and Sattam Al Roki (90+14) to guarantee victory.

Al Ittihad lead the championship with 19 points, as do Al Taawon, while Al Nasr are third with 18 and Al Hilal fourth with 17, but have played one less game, which could leave them isolated leadership in the competition in case of triumph.

Al-Hazem are in last place with just three points and have yet to win the Saudi Arabian league.
