This Saturday, Sporting can cement their place at the top of the Portuguese football league if they win at home to Farense in their seventh round match, while Boavista can join third-placed Porto.
A day after Benfica’s 1-0 win over Porto, Sporting can take advantage of being alone at the top of the leaderboard by visiting Farense in 11th place.
After Friday’s classic match, Sporting are in second place with 16 points, two behind Benfica and the same number behind Porto.
Boavista could also benefit from the rout of the Dragons, who could join their Invicta neighbors in third place if they beat Famalican.
In sixth place, one place lower and with two points less than the “checkered” team, the Famalicenses can qualify for the European Cup qualifying places.
In the first meeting of the day, Visela, 13th, and Portimonense, 15th, both with five points, are looking for points to move away from the relegation places.
