A few minutes after the incident, Waalwijk’s CEO left an optimistic message on NOS TV. “Fortunately he left the field conscious. I can imagine he looked serious in the photographs. He went to the hospital for a check-up, and let’s hope it’s nothing serious. He was conscious, but I didn’t know what happened or where he was.” Great compliment.
