Portugal lost to Australia in the third match of the Rugby World Cup.

Portugal lost 34-14 to Australia this Sunday in Group C of the 2023 Rugby World Cup in Saint-Etienne, with the Wallabies maintaining hopes of reaching the quarter-finals.

Portugal still had the advantage thanks to Pedro Bettencourt’s try (12 minutes) but the Australians, two-time world champions, responded with five tries to earn them a bonus point that keeps them in contention for qualification. Rafael Simões (70) played the second Portuguese Test.

After this match, Portugal remain in fifth and final place in the standings with two points, Wales lead with 14, three more than Australia (one more game to play), four more than Fiji, who will face Wolves in match. Last round. Georgia has three points.
