A 49-year-old man has been arrested by the Judicial Police (JP) on suspicion of attempting to murder his ex-wife in Vagos. Last Wednesday, a man armed with a pitchfork, acting in the context of ongoing domestic violence, approached the victim in the street and attacked her, causing several injuries.
The SP said in a statement that the attacks were not fatal as the victim defended himself and screamed for help.
“An artifact was also seized – a homemade firearm with ammunition, which the suspect allegedly used in committing the acts,” the report said.
The detainee was present at the first interrogation in the Aveiro area, and a preventive measure was imposed on him.
