FC Barcelona has extended the contract of the young footballer Lamin Yamal, only 16 years old, until June 2026, with the Spanish player having a clause of one million dollars, the Catalan club announced this Monday.
On its official website, FC Barcelona explained that Yamal, a player who trains in the club’s schools and whose contract was ending at the end of the current season, will remain available for at least another three years with a release clause of one billion euros.
The Catalan side are currently Porto’s Champions League rivals and feature Portugal internationals Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.
In April, Lamin Yamal became the youngest player to wear a Barcelona first team shirt at the age of 15 years, nine months and 16 days, and did the same for Spain, also scoring a goal.
Yamal was born in Catalonia, his father is Moroccan, and his mother is from Equatorial Guinea. He has nine games and one assist for Xavi’s side this season.
