The PCP, Chega and PAN bills to increase the risk premium for PSP and GNR members were rejected this Wednesday in Parliament, with the Socialist Party voting against.
The Portuguese Communist Party’s bill, which proposed increasing service and risk pay in the security forces and services, received votes for the PCP, Bloc de Esquerda, PAN, Livre and Chega, while the PSD and the Liberal Initiative abstained and the PS voted against.
In the draft, the PCP advocated for an increase in the fixed component of the security forces service and risk allowance to €420 from 1 January next year, with this amount expected to increase to €450 during 2024.
Chegi’s bill to increase to 500 euros the fixed portion of the security force allowance for service and risk received by members of the National Republican Guard and agents of the Public Security Police was defeated, earning only a vote in favor of Chegi. and PAN.
The PS voted against the bill, while the SDP, the Liberal Initiative, the PKP and the Free Left Bloc abstained.
Another bill that failed in the PS vote was PAN, which provided increases in service and risk allowances and patrol allowances for security forces and service industry professionals.
This bill, which proposed an increase in the fixed component of the service and risk premium in PSP and GNR to 443 euros and a guarantee of its annual renewal in accordance with the social support index, as well as a 20% increase in patrols or patrol applications, voted for PAN, Chega, PCP , BE, Livre and abstained for PSD and the Liberal Initiative.
Parliament also rejected a law proposed by the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of the Azores to increase the risk allowance for police officers.
