Borrell attends a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell will take part in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meeting in Muscat, the capital of Oman, following the Hamas attack on Israel.

“We have many common problems that require close cooperation, including the tragic consequences of the Hamas attack on Israel. We need to continue to work together for peace,” Borrell said on his X (formerly Twitter) account of his participation in the meeting. which starts on Monday in Oman.

The Gulf Cooperation Council is a regional organization made up of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, countries that have for some time made greater or lesser efforts to move closer to Israel or even normalize relations . relations, such as Bahrain or Kuwait.
