Find out who the Portuguese-Israelis are still missing in the war in Israel

Five Portuguese-Israelis have gone missing since the first Hamas attack on Israel, which began on October 7. Liraz Assouline, 38, has a Portuguese passport and is partly unsure. She is from traditional Sephardic families in Morocco and the daughter of Meyir Assoulin and Rikva Sheetrit.

28-year-old Idan Shtivi is also missing. He is the son of Dali Oron of Bulgarian origin.

Joining the list is Gilad Ben Yehuda, the son of Sochi resident Gali Gavriel Eskenazi from a traditional Turkish Sephardic family. Citizen of Portugal and Israel, 28 years old.

26-year-old Portuguese Moshe Saadian is also wanted by the family. His father is Vered Moshe, he is from a traditional Sephardic family from the former Ottoman Empire.

Orin Bira, father of the latest confirmed fatal victim, Portuguese-Israeli Tahir Bira, is listed as missing. He is 53 years old and the son of Simha Cazorla, also from a traditional Sephardic family in the former Ottoman Empire.

Menachem Hillel Ben Khalifa, 22, was wounded during the attacks and admitted to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem. The citizen with the Portuguese passport is the son of Refael Ben Khalifa from a family of the traditional Sephardic community in Morocco.

So far, three Portuguese have been confirmed dead since the first Hamas attack on Israel: Tahir Bira, 21, Doreen Atias, 22, and Rotem Neumann, 25.
