The sentencing of Tania Reis and Joao Souza, a former lawyer and former legal adviser to Rosa Grilo, was postponed on Tuesday until 14:00 on November 9. The judge announced an insignificant change in the facts of the charges and the legal classification of the crimes.
The defendants are now charged with the crime of personal favoritism in the attempt. The defense did not give time to analyze what was told to it on Tuesday.
The new restatement of the facts describes, for example, that the defendants had access to bullet fragments and shell casings, which they placed in the house of Rosa Grilo, creating a new crime scene.
We recall that the former lawyer of Rosa Grilo and the former forensic consultant, the woman sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of her husband Luis, together with her lover António Joaquim, also convicted, are accused of the crime of personal gain, since they are suspected of planting evidence on site of the murder of triathlete Luis Grilo in 2018. We are talking about a bullet hole in the bathtub, as well as shrapnel and bullet casings that appeared in the couple’s room in order to show favor to client Rosa.
Leaving the court, Tania Reis and Joao Souza did not react in any way to the postponement of the announcement of the verdict.
