Stephane El Shaarawy’s goal in the 90th minute gave Roma, coached by Portuguese coach Jose Moruinho, a 1-0 victory over Monza in the ninth round of the Italian Football League.
With Ruy Patricio in goal, the Romans had a numerical advantage in the 41st minute when Danilo D’Ambrosio received a second yellow card, but only managed to score in the dying moments.
Shortly after Iranian Azmoun hit the post, El Shaarawy took advantage of the rebound in the box to give Roma victory over Monza, who had Pedro Pereira in the eleventh position and Dani Mota from the 64th minute.
With a third win in a row, Roma, who saw Mourinho sent off in stoppage time, temporarily moved up to sixth with 14 points but could still be overtaken by Sporting’s Europa League rivals Atalanta, who host Genoa.
Monza, which ended its five-game unbeaten streak, is in 11th place with 12 points.
