Bad weather flooded streets and houses in the north

In Viana do Castelo, several roads had to be cut, including the one that runs under the Eiffel Bridge. The same thing happened in Guimarães. In Lesa da Palmeira and Lesa do Baliu, Matosinhos, there were tree falls that hit cars and landslides that caused walls to collapse. However, in the same municipality, at the exit of the A28 motorway, some cars were partially submerged.

In Fanzeres, Gondomar, the heavy rain became frightening again. “It was like a river flowing behind the house,” Olinda Ramalho told CM. In the Center area, in Alcobas, part of the road collapsed.

In Lisbon, a tree falling on a high voltage line regulating railway traffic at Roma/Areiro station affected train services. The rain is expected to continue until Sunday.
