This Thursday, Sporting drew 1-1 with Polish side Rakov in the third round of Group D of the Europa League, in which they were short-handed from the eighth minute.
After Sweden’s Victor Gyökeres was sent off, Uruguayan Sebastian Coates gave the Lions the lead in the 14th minute, but Fabian Piasecki equalized in the 79th minute to give Rakov their first point in the group stage of European competition.
With this result, Sporting remains in second place in Group D with four points, three points behind leader Atalanta and the same as Austria’s Sturm Graz, who drew with the Italians (2-2).
