At Selhurst Park, after a scoreless first half, Joel Ward’s own goal in the 53rd minute gave Tottenham the lead in the London derby, followed by another goal in the 66th minute, this time scored by South Korean Son.
Crystal Palace also reduced the deficit in 90+4 minutes of stoppage time through Ghanaian Jordan Ayew, but could not avoid a third straight game without a win and a second consecutive defeat, leaving the team of the very experienced coach Roy Hodgson (76) already 11 – place in the competition.
