A 23-year-old young man was attacked by a group of ten Sporting fans. The victim, a Sporting fan, was waiting for a group of friends to arrive to return to Lisbon after the game when he was mistaken for a Boavista fan because he was wearing a dark coat. He was brutally attacked and his attackers threw a torch at him. The young man needed help at the Santo Antonio Hospital in Porto.
The alert for this situation was issued at 11:50 p.m., approximately two hours after the end of the game. This happened at the intersection of San Juan Bosco and Padre Himalaya streets. PSP is investigating this matter. There were no arrests or identifications.
In a video sent to the magazine’s editors CM, A man can be seen being attacked by a group, and at one point the attackers throw a torch at him. PSP was called to the scene late in the game. No one was identified or detained. PSP is investigating the attack. The victim required hospital treatment.
Before the game, two men were arrested for selling tickets, and several people were identified who set fire to pyrotechnic devices near the stadium during the game.
