The facts date back to 2022 and occurred in the house of the accused in Toxa, municipality of Cantanhede.
The victim’s mother reported the incident after her daughter complained about her father’s behavior when he received her on weekends and holidays, as stipulated in the parental rules.
The Coimbra court found all the facts stated in the indictment proven.
According to the deputy, there were at least four cases when a father abused his daughter, with whom he lay in bed and watched pornography, while intoxicated with alcohol and drugs.
During the investigation, computer materials were seized from him on which he stored pornographic images and videos in digital format, some of which featured minors. Files were also found in which the accused filmed himself masturbating.
He still had drugs and a cannabis plant in his home.
Reading out the decision, the court emphasized the seriousness of the facts and sentenced him to nine years in prison, the maximum legal term. According to the judge, this is a period of time during which the 33-year-old defendant can think about life as he is still quite young.
The man was found guilty of four offenses of child sexual abuse, one of child pornography and one of drug use.
