Neymar has been discharged for medical reasons and will begin to recover in the next few days.

Brazil international Neymar, who underwent successful surgery on his left knee on Thursday, has already been discharged and will begin his recovery in the coming days, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said on Saturday.

Rodrigo Lasmar, doctor for the Brazilian national team and Atlético Mineiro, examined the Saudi Al-Hilal player Jorge Jesus this Saturday and reported “good development” after surgery followed by physiotherapy sessions, according to information provided by the organization.

Lasmar has already operated on Neymar twice, always at the Mater Dei hospital in Belo Horizonte.

Neymar is unlikely to play again this season, his first as a player for Al-Hilal, the Saudi Arabian side led by Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus and which also includes midfielder Ruben Neves.

The former Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Santos striker was injured on October 17 while playing for Brazil in a 2-0 defeat to Uruguay to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

In that match, Neymar suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee and had to leave the field on a stretcher.
