Kenyan Emmanuel Kemboi wins the Porto Marathon

This Sunday, Kenyan Emmanuel Kemboi won the 19th Porto Marathon, completing the 42.195-kilometre route in 2:14.13 hours, finishing well short of the record set last year by compatriot James Mwangi.

The 35-year-old completed the half-marathon in 1:04.07 hours and crossed the finish line in Queimódromo alone, ahead of fellow Kenyan Simion Tarusa, second, 27 seconds, and Ethiopian Ashenafi Boha, who finished on the podium, 1.10. . minutes.

In the women’s category, Ethiopian Tejitu Siyum Alemayehu replaced Portugal’s Vanessa Carvalho, who won in 2:32.06 hours, ahead of compatriot Cinque Dessie, second, in 4.11 minutes, and Kenyan Mildred Chepkemei, third, in 12.27.
