The Euskal Selekzioa kayak surfing will take part from this Thursday, September 29, in the World Cup of the aforementioned modality in the town of Bude (Cornwall county, England). The championship will last for almost two weeks, until October 9. This was announced this Tuesday by the Union of Basque Sports Federations (UFDV) through a note.
The UFDV considers that, after the pandemic and having held the last World Cup in July 2019 in Peru, “the unknowns in terms of results are great“, but it shows”optimistic” facing one of the toughest World Cup events in recent times, since “is celebrated on the beaches of its most complicated opponents”.
The Euskal Selekzioa de Kayak surf competes internationally since 1997 and won the last World Cup held in 2019 in Peru. In 2017 he also managed to take first place in Northern Ireland, as well as in 2015 in Galicia, in 2013 in Australia, in 2011 in the United States and in 2007 in Mundaka. She was second in 2009 in Portugal.
At the individual level, in the last World Championship, the members of the Euskal Selekzioa won a total of 12 medals, being the number one country in the medal table.
The previous international event for the Basque team was last year, within the framework of the European Championship held in Sopela, where it won Big results.
