The Portuguese Paralympic Committee (CPP) wants to stimulate research in the field of Paralympic sports by establishing for this purpose the Science and Innovation Prize, announced this Monday, for which applications can be submitted until the end of the month.
“The 2023 Allianz Prize for Science and Innovation in Paralympic Sport aims to annually recognize scientific work carried out in the context of various sport science topics by researchers in the field of disability sport,” the CPP said in a statement.
The body that oversees Paralympic and Deaflympic sports explains that the initiative aims to “stimulate research into Paralympic sports and will award the winner a cash prize of €5,000.”
According to the CPP, “the award is open to researchers affiliated with higher education institutions or research centers located within the country, as well as Portuguese researchers associated with higher education institutions or research centers abroad.”
