“During surveillance at the Greek land border, maritime police officers discovered four adult men swimming towards Lambi beach on the island of Kos, where they were rescued,” the Maritime Department said.
The migrants were handed over to the Greek authorities.
“Marine Police participates in Operation POSEIDON, under the auspices of the European agency FRONTEX and with the support of the Greek Coast Guard, with the aim of controlling and monitoring the Greek and external borders of the European Union, in the fight against cross-border crime within the framework of the functions of the European Coast Guard,” describe Maritime authorities.
