The biographical feature film written and directed by Christopher Nolan about J. Robert Oppenheimer, considered the father of the atomic bomb, is garnering preference from experts and the public, according to this site. The film (which opens in Portugal on July 20) is already considered one of the highest-grossing biopics in history, surpassing Bohemian Rhapsody (about Freddie Mercury) with earnings of €858 million. But “Oppenheimer” has strong competitors in the fight for Academy Awards. According to GoldDerby, in second place in the preferences for the final victory is Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon (premiered in Portugal on October 19), and in 3rd place is Poor Creatures – the feature film Yorgos. Lanthimos, who doesn’t make his debut here until January. “Barbie”, one of the phenomena of the year, takes 4th place. In 5th place is Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers (released on the 23rd), and in 6th place is Bradley Cooper’s Maestro (7 December). The winners will be announced on March 10 at a gala in Los Angeles.
