Six students belonging to the activist group Greve Climática, who intended to spend the night at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities as a form of climate protest, were detained by the PSP early Tuesday morning. The information was provided by the team in a statement sent to the editorial office.
According to the same source, after leaving the educational institution and already in police cars, the pedestrian was hit.
The young people detained by the police were released this morning.
Activists have criticized police actions to “silence” youth voices and vowed to hold a new protest scheduled for 3:30 pm this Tuesday at FCSH.
This Monday, the group Climate Strike began a wave of protests to end the use of fossil fuels in 2023 and for 100% renewable and affordable electricity by 2025 in several schools and colleges.
