Coach Andre Villas-Boas admitted on Tuesday that the support felt by Porto’s members and fans practically forces him to run for the presidency of the club, making this “formality” dependent on guaranteeing the quality of the program and the team.
“I cannot remain indifferent to the support that I feel. Probably, nominating a candidate is almost a formality. I just want to take safe, decisive, smart and transparent steps, backed by rigorous, high-level and highly trusted teams, because that’s what Porto deserves,” Villas-Boas said at the Lisbon web summit.
The 46-year-old football coach was one of the main characters at a conference on artificial intelligence at the Lisbon Technology Summit, a day after the Dragons’ tumultuous Extraordinary General Assembly.
