Pedro Teixeira took to social media on Tuesday morning to lament in a long statement the scenes of fighting that took place on Monday evening at the General Assembly of FC Porto. The actor, who exchanged some arguments with Fernando Madureira a few days ago, spoke of the “destruction” and “shame” he experienced, as well as “attacks on the bench by partners, men and women of all ages.”

“Today I woke up, looked at my wrist and realized it wasn’t just a nightmare.
The General Assembly of FC Porto actually took place, and it couldn’t have been worse.
It was possible to talk about disorganization; it was possible and necessary to discuss the items on which they voted to change the charter.
We could participate in a peaceful vote at one of the largest club assemblies ever, where the participants were present in a loud manner… and how wonderful it was.
See thousands of members waiting to exercise their right to vote, participate and be an active voice. We were happy, standing in this endless line, looking at each other with pride for what was happening there.
The worst happened later. The first reports began to be heard from the first room – the auditorium.
Later news came out that the Assembly would be suspended for 45 minutes and that this vast sea of participants would be given the opportunity to attend and participate in a place that would welcome us all.
What we saw next was a disaster; a simple manifesto was enough to be treated with insults. It was a shame, my teammates attacked on the bench, men and women of all ages.
All this in front of the dispassionate and placid General Assembly, while the members of the club were swept from the stands. The only thing that mattered was getting the agenda done. There was not a word, arms and legs remained crossed, and everything happened right in front of everyone.
Minimal security, no public security police, beatings and intimidation.
This is not true!
Such a situation could never happen in a free and democratic country.
I was scared and ashamed of what happened.
This is a day that cannot be forgotten.
There will be a new General Assembly on the 20th, and it will be wonderful and extremely important that we will all be there again and in a much calmer and safer atmosphere, since it will be unacceptable and incomprehensible that after what happened yesterday, the PSP and the Prosecutor’s Office do not accept measures and does not protect public order and the safety of everyone.
