Gelson Martins could return to Portugal in the January transfer market. The 28-year-old is welcoming a possible return after leaving the country in 2018, according to the French press.
The Arab market also appears to be a likely option. The Portugal international has currently not played for Monaco since February 26 and is not training with Adi Hütter’s side.
Gelson has a contract with Monaco until the summer of 2024, but the Monegasque club does not intend to put any obstacles in the way of the player’s departure in January.
In Portugal, the striker represented Sporting, but ended up terminating his contract after breaking into the Alcochete Academy. In 2018, he moved to Atl for free. Madrid, who subsequently agreed to compensate the Lions €15 million plus 50% of Luciano Vietto’s pass (worth €7.5 million).
