Andre Villas-Boas took to social media on Friday to demand exemplary punishment for members who “physically and verbally attacked” other members at FC Porto’s extraordinary general meeting.
The future candidate in the club’s presidential elections, scheduled for April, commented on Thursday’s decision by the FC Porto Supreme Council to withdraw the proposed change to the club’s statutes “following the unfortunate and reprehensible events that have occurred.” at the General Assembly last Monday.
“I want to believe that the corporate bodies of FC Porto will act in accordance with their statutes and initiate the necessary investigations and disciplinary procedures to punish in an exemplary manner the members who indecently physically and mentally attacked other members of FC Porto during the AG, and is actively cooperating with the Department of Justice in its already announced investigation into the same incidents.”
The coach wants the CEO Council to ensure “minimum logistics and security conditions” at club meetings so ideas and proposals can be “freely discussed.”
Sergio Conceiço’s team, which received the first of three days off on Friday, is shrugging off the controversy.
