Spaniard Jaume Macia (Leopard) won this Sunday’s Moto3 race at the Qatar Grand Prix, the penultimate race of the World Championship, and became the champion of the lower category with one race to go.
Masia took 33.50.694 minutes to complete 16 laps, leaving Colombian David Alonso (GasGas) in second place, 0.068 seconds behind, and Turkey’s Denis Oncu in third, 0.163 seconds behind.
At 23 years old, Jaume Macia is one of the most experienced riders in the Moto3 category. He was born in Valencia and made his World Cup debut in 2018.
This year he became a champion for the first time in his career.
With one race left of the championship next week in Valencia, Masia has 271 points compared to 243 for Japan’s Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna).
