Nuno Lopez responded by saying that while he values his privacy and personal life, in this case he wanted to “come before the public to clarify and tell the truth about this story” and says he has “a completely clear conscience”.
The actor explains in his statement that he cannot explain or reveal details of the process he is involved in, a process that began in 2006 while the actor was studying acting in New York that year.
The actor and DJ says he is “morally and ethically” unable to commit the acts he is accused of. “I would never drug someone or take advantage of someone who is incapacitated, whether due to excessive drinking or exposure to any other substance,” he writes.
He adds that he has the greatest respect and solidarity “for all victims of any kind of violence.” He says he understands the consequences of the case and that refusing a confidential settlement and going to court harms his personal and professional image.
Finally, he says he hopes “the matter will be quickly clarified and dealt with fairly,” adding that he will never be afraid to take legal action against anyone who defames his name.
