Portugal’s Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva and Cristiano Ronaldo have been nominated for Footballer of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards, which are presented annually at a ceremony in Dubai and are scheduled for this edition on January 14, 2024.
Three Portugal internationals are on the list of 30 candidates, including Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, France’s Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann, Brazil’s Vinicius Junior and England’s Jude Bellingham.
In another category, as fans’ favorite footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo repeats the nomination, as does world champion Lionel Messi in the 10-player list, which also includes Brazil international Neymar, who was excluded from the previous one.
Among the candidates for the title of best goalkeeper, Diogo Costa (Porto) stands out, Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) is nominated for the best midfielder, and Antonio Silva (Benfica) and Ivorian Diomande are nominated for the title of most promising player. Central defender of Sporting.
