The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) are “very alarmed by the escalating crisis that is once again unfolding in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRCongo),” according to a statement from the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF). UNHCR statement released today.
According to UNHCR, the crisis is exacerbated by limited access to humanitarian assistance to those most in need, mainly due to the closure of main communication routes.
