This Friday, around midnight, a seven-month-old child was stabbed at home by his 37-year-old stepfather in Vila Nova das Patas, in the municipality of Mirandela. The child suffered serious injuries and was taken to the São João Hospital in Porto.
According to a source from the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João, referred to by Lusa, the child’s clinical situation is “critical, [mas] in this stable moment.”
When GNR soldiers arrived on the scene, they saw a man on the balcony of a house with a baby on the floor.
“Upon arrival, we found a child stabbed, unconscious, with multiple injuries to the chest and abdomen,” local fire commander Luis Soares explained to Lusa.
The man also stabbed his own mother and his 19-year-old partner. The women were injured and were hospitalized. The attacker was also injured and is in hospital. For what CM We managed to find out that the attacker uses drugs and suffers from a serious mental illness.
The stepfather was taken into custody.
The case was transferred to the judicial police.
