The Angolan midfielder Keliano from Estrela da Amadora was taken to hospital this Friday after feeling unwell in the final part of the game against Visela in the fourth round of the Portuguese Cup.
Amateur assistant coach Luis Matos provided information at the end of the match, confirming that the athlete had been taken by ambulance to a hospital in the region after suffering a “blow to the head.”
The 20-year-old Angolan midfielder, thrown into the match in extra time, was seriously injured after a collision with an opponent, but continued to play after receiving medical attention.
But in the second half of extra time, five minutes before the end of the match, Celiano felt unwell, lost his balance, eventually received medical attention again and left the field on a stretcher, but conscious.
The athlete was observed in the locker room and then taken by ambulance to the hospital to undergo additional examinations.
