Climate activists spray-painted the entrance to the room in Kaltergest where a session on green hydrogen was held at the Portugal Renovable Energy Summit 2023, attended by representatives from Galp and EDP.
According to the collective, the action was aimed at condemning the hydrogen debate as another threat to decarbonization and an attack on the lives of thousands of people.
Two youths from an environmental group accused Galp, EDP and other companies sponsoring the event of “genocide” and that the event was a “greenwashing” strategy for oil company war crimes. On the posters for the event, the activist wrote in red: “Galp + REN = Death.”
Climaximo has been the protagonist of controversial information campaigns in recent months. From throwing paint on ministers, preventing traffic on roads and occupying colleges, the collective vows to act until demands are heard.
