Civil protection warned this Wednesday of the possibility of floods, landslides and slippery floors due to forecasts of rain, wind and snowfall at the highest points of the Serra da Estrela.
In a warning to the population, the National Office of Emergency Management and Civil Protection (ANEPC) points out that the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts precipitation, sometimes heavy, wind and snowfall for the next 48 hours.
ANEPC also provides an overview of the situation in the river basins, citing hydrological information provided by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), arguing that increased flows may occur in the Douro River basin, but without critical situations in the Vuga River.
