This Friday, Everton appealed against a 10-point deduction in the English Football League for an alleged breach of the competition’s financial rules.
Everton Football Club today presented [esta sexta-feira] President of the Premier League Referees Council to appeal against the Premier League committee’s decision to impose a 10-point ban on the club,” the Toffees said in a statement.
Last season the club reported losses over the last three years of £372 million (around €425 million).
The Premier League’s financial strength rules allow for maximum losses of up to £105 million (€120 million) over three years, significantly lower than those represented by the Toffees.
The team, coached by Sean Dyche and featuring Portuguese players Joao Virginia, Andre Gomes, Beto and Cermiti, sit with this punishment in 19th and penultimate place in the English league, with four points, five behind the service area.
