The Directorate for the Prevention and Combating of Violence in Sports (APCVD) will forward to the prosecutor’s office information that will allow the identification of the attackers in the incidents at the Rabo de Peixe-Santa Clara youth match, it was announced this Thursday.
The organization says there is a “public dimension” to the decision and “the implications of images being circulated that show aggression between players, with a criminal offense of a public nature at stake.”
We are talking about attacks in Saturday’s match between Desportivo Rabo de Peixe and Santa Clara Asores SAD at the Campo de Futebol Bom Jesus stadium in the 12th round of the San Miguel junior championship.
The second half of the game began when a straight red card to a player on the home team led to violent reactions and aggression in the form of punching another player who fell on the field, as well as arguing and pushing between members of both teams.
The APCVD “will forward to the prosecutor’s office all information collected that will allow the identification of the aggressors and will be useful for the administration of justice, taking into account the competence of the judiciary to investigate criminal cases.”
The images also show team player Rabu De Peixe kicking an opponent lying on the field, also seeing a red card, and the game did not end without a third sending off for the hosts, who lost the match with Santa Clara 2-0.
