The President of the FPF congratulated Abel Ferreira on the restoration of the Brazilian championship title

The President of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), Fernando Gomes, this Thursday congratulated Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira for winning a second consecutive Brazilian title as coach of Palmeiras.

“It is with great satisfaction that I congratulate Abel Ferreira for the prestige he has once again given to Portuguese football by winning the crown in the service of Sociedad Esportiviva Palmeiras, two-time champion of Brazil,” Fernando Gomez said in his speech at the press conference. The message was published on the official website of the FPF on the Internet.

Led by Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras renewed their Brazilian title on Wednesday, adding their 12th scepter in the tournament, with a 1-1 draw at Cruzeiro Stadium in the 38th and final round of the championship.

“Because of your abilities, personality and leadership style, I am sending you and Carlos Martinho, Vitor Castanheiro, Joao Martins and Thiago Magalhães da Costa [portugueses membros da equipa técnica do Palmeiras]On my personal behalf and on behalf of the FPF, my most sincere thanks,” said Fernando Gomes.
