The athlete was rescued by the technical team on the field and taken to medical facilities, which were unable to reverse the situation.
In addition to Kayo, six other players were injured. Local political authorities expressed regret over the athlete’s death and said they were “making every effort to ensure that those affected receive the best possible care.”
Five injured players remain under observation; another, in more serious condition, was taken to the city regional hospital.
