Legia Warsaw have been fined 100,000 euros and banned from selling tickets as visitors for five games in European football competitions, UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Discipline Committee (CEDB) said on Wednesday.
The most severe of the penalties issued by the CEBD relates to several acts considered to be public disorder, namely the throwing of objects and pyrotechnics during Warsaw’s game against Birmingham on November 30 in the European Football Conference League.
Legia Warsaw are also given 30 days to contact Aston Villa to “repair the damage caused by the fans.”
As for Bayern Munich-Copenhagen, on November 29, as part of the Champions League, it was decided to fine the Danes 40 thousand euros and ban away sales for the European match due to the use of torches. However, the ban on ticket sales has been suspended for two years, starting with the decision now announced.
Arsenal-Lens on November 29, also in the Champions League, resulted in a fine of €30,000 and a ban on ticket sales by Lens for one away game. In this case, we are talking about causing damage, using torches and throwing objects, and the punishment is also suspended for two years.
In the case of the game between Lazio and Celtic, also from the Champions, on November 28, the Romans were punished with 25,000 euros, 16,750 and 18,125 for various incidents.
Lazio will have to partially close the stands at their next UEFA game due to discriminatory behavior by fans – punishment will be delayed for two years.
A game between Servette and Roma, coached by Jose Mourinho of the Europa League, on November 30 resulted in fines of €12,000 and €16,500 for “blocking public roads” and “throwing objects” by fans.
The Swiss will also be fined 30,000 euros for lighting the torches, with the stadium partially closed for the duration of the game and the punishment suspended for two years.
